I don’t know—or maybe it’s,
“I don’t want to know…”
But you’re reading the words of an old woman whose two grandfathers were 13th-degree Masons.
This is a fact about myself I’ve never written about because even as a child, I considered it to be part of a sordid family history—even though I knew nothing about the Masons.
With all this talk about gender-equality and such—Masons do not accept women into their ranks. Since I happen to be smarter than most men, I find this to be offensive—even if I don’t want to join.
Now I have to wonder at my own discomfort during my life at the fact that both my grandfathers were 13-degree Masons. It wasn’t anything I could put my finger on—it just felt weird.
